先生曰：「岂特三百篇？六经只此一言便可该贯。以至穷古今天下圣贤的话，『思无邪』一言也可该贯。此外更有何说？此是一了百当的功夫。」
问：「『思无邪』一句话，怎么能涵盖三百篇的诗义？」
先生说：「岂止三百篇？六经只用这一句话便可贯通。以至穷尽古今天下圣贤的话，『思无邪』一句也可以贯通。此外更有什么可说？这是一了百当的功夫。」
Asked: 'How can one phrase, thoughts without crookedness, cover the three hundred poems?'
The Master said: 'Only the three hundred? The Six Classics are compassed by this one phrase; all the words of sages and worthies through all time likewise. What more need be said? It is the work that settles all at a stroke.'
