「善念发而知之，而充之；恶念发而知之，而遏之。知与充与遏者，志也，天聪明也。圣人只有此，学者当存此。」
「善念发出而能察觉，就去扩充它；恶念发出而能察觉，就去遏止它。能知、能扩充、能遏止的，就是志，就是天生的聪明。圣人只有这个，学者应当保存这个。」
'A good thought arises — know it and expand it; an evil thought arises — know it and check it. This knowing, expanding, checking is the will — Heaven's own intelligence. The sage has only this; the learner must preserve this.'
