「『夜气』，是就常人说。学者能用功，则日间有事、无事，皆是此气翕聚发生处。圣人则不消说『夜气』。」
「『夜气』，是就常人说的。学者若能用功，那么白天有事无事，都是此气翕聚生发的时候。对圣人，就不必说『夜气』了。」
'The night breath is said of ordinary people. If learners do the work, then by day, in affairs or out of them, it is all where this breath gathers and springs forth. For the sage there is no need to speak of night breath.'
