先生曰：「『天命之谓性』，命即是性。『率性之谓道』，性即是道。『修道之谓教』，道即是教。」
问：「如何『道即是教』？」
曰：「道即是良知，真知原是完完全全，是的还他是、非的还他非。是非只依著他，更无有不是处，这良知还[1]是你的明师。」

The Master said: 'What heaven mandates is nature — the mandate is nature. Following nature is the Way — nature is the Way. Cultivating the Way is teaching — the Way is teaching.'
Asked how the Way is teaching, he said: 'The Way is innate knowledge, whole and entire from the first: right it returns as right, wrong as wrong. Follow it in all right and wrong — nowhere does it err: this innate knowledge is your own bright master.'
